In terms of our news, there's been some interest in our #TrialsTues initiative to raise awareness of trials, so we hope to see clinical researchers taking advantage of the opportunity to share their Aus trials each Tuesday from 5-10pm AEST soon in our Research Gamechangers Facebook Group. This group has been discussing a new potential logo, how people want to find trials, and more. Join if you are interested in getting involved.

A trial for the clinical effectiveness of a Non-invasive Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) method for determining the ploidy status of embryos of patients undergoing In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) treatment that are not suitable for standard biopsy. This SA trial is looking for 73 people by March 2019.
Measurement of health-related quality of life at admission and discharge from the Rehabilitation In The Home service. This SA trial is looking for 50 people by Jun 2019.
A Single-Blind, Prospective, Randomised Control Trial Comparing Two Radiofrequency Neurotomy (RFN) Techniques For the Treatment of Chronic Lower Back Pain Originating from Facet Joints. This VIC trial is looking for 98 people by March 2020.

Building bone from blood: The effect of vitamin D on circulating bone-forming cells This VIC trial is looking for 84 people by Feb 2019.
Evaluating the efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness of adjuvant ginger supplementation for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting This QLD trial is looking for 300 people by Mar 2019.

Among other updates, the National Health and Medical Research Council's (NHMRC) updated National Statement now makes it a MUST to register trials happening in Australia before first person is enrolled using an approved trial register. See section 3.1.7 of the updated National Statement for the requirement.
"Inverting the patient involvement paradigm: defining patient led research" - A journal article describing a new Patient-Led Research Hub in Cambridge UK, supporting patient-initiated research ideas to get off the ground.
