This week AccessCR is exhibiting at the ARCS Australia Annual Conference in Sydney. We're looking forward to meeting the increased number of consumers that will be attending this year, as speakers, and as ARCS Consumer Scholarship holders. We are also happy to have helped support a couple of consumers to cover their travel costs to take up those scholarships

The great news is that we didn't spend the full amount donated by ourselves, Rare Cancers Australia, Medicines Australia, TrialDocs and Lucid Health Consulting. The group have agreed for the left over funds raised to be used to provide travel support for consumers to attend other other scientific conferences this year. Stay tuned more details about this in the coming months.

At the ARCS Conference, we'll also be chairing a session with a trial participant, site and lawyer on the very important topic of compensation for clinical trials injury and the gaps that need to be closed in this area. If there are CCReW out there with experiences to share on this topic, please get in touch. This is just one of the areas of advocacy for CCReW we will be pursuing in the coming months.

This is a list of all studies on the ANZCTR approved by a human research ethics committee, recruiting in Australia, with a trial start date between 9-23 May 2022.

Effects of a Lower Carbohydrate Mediterranean Dietary Pattern on the Severity of Metabolic Syndrome. This randomised, controlled lifestyle trial is looking for 222 people with specific metabolic characteristics aged between 30 and 75 years at centres in ACT,NSW,NT,QLD,SA,TAS,WA,and VIC.
A phase 4, single-arm, open-label treatment, descriptive study of upadacitinib effectiveness assessed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) changes in the hand/wrist and clinical response outcomes in participants with rheumatoid arthritis on methotrexate and who are biologic naïve. This interventional trial is looking for 30 people aged 18+ at centres in NSW and VIC.
A comparison of wound healing in diabetic foot wounds using a Biodegradable Temporising Matrix (BTM) scaffold technology versus usual standard of care. This randomised controlled trial in SA is looking for 64 people aged 18+ with a diagnosis of diabetes and scheduled to undergo a minor amputation of the lower limb.
An Open-Label Feasibility Study to Assess the Safety and Effect of Manualised MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for the Treatment of Severe Posttraumatic Stress Disorder among Four Australians. This proof-of-concept open label phase 1/2 trial in WA is looking for 4 people with Severe Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
Study of LaNova Medicines(LM)-302 in Combination With Toripalimab in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors. This open-label, phase 1/2 non-randomised treatment trial in Sydney is looking for 50 people aged 18+ with advanced solid tumours.
The Effect of a Combination of Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) and Probiotics on Behavioural Change in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This open-label, randomised controlled trial in QLD is looking for 60 children aged 5-12yrs with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or Pervasic Developmental Disorders.

AccessCR has no relationship with any of these projects and conducts this search of the public register to help people know about the research studies looking for participants.
